Portsmouth FC, also known as Pompey, is a professional football club based in Portsmouth, England. Founded in 1898, the club has a rich history and has been crowned English champions twice, in 1949 and 1950, and has also won the FA Cup twice, in 1939 and 2008.
Throughout its history, Portsmouth FC has been known for its passionate supporters, known as the Pompey faithful. The club has a strong rivalry with nearby Southampton FC, with the two teams contesting the South Coast Derby.
